Gutenprint 5.2.0-beta3 for Mac OS X is released!: “”
The Gutenprint project is pleased to announce Gutenprint 5.2.0-beta3, a beta release for the upcoming Gutenprint 5.2 stable release series. See the Downloads section.
Gutenprint and Gimp-Print for OS X provide high quality printer drivers for Canon, Epson, Lexmark, and PCL printers.
The Gutenprint site has an extensive FAQ and an active forum, so if you have nay problems there is plenty of help available. However, in my experience the whole process is straight-forward. Just download and install and that’s about it.

The installer package includes an uninstaller as well as the Gutenprint Utility for Epson inkjet printers. In total, more than 450 printers are installed. The enhancements included mean, among other things, that less ink is used for the same or imnproved quality. Note: This applies to inkjets usng Claria inks only.
There are also numerous bug fixes, so its a recommended install.
