MacRumours.com report iTunes 7.7 seeded to developers

The Mac rumour site, MacRumours.com, reports that Apple has released a pre-release version of iTunes 7.7 for developers tonight.

The interesting aspect of this is that it seems there will be a free app, available on the forthcoming App Store, to allow you to remotely control iTunes in your home from your iPhone or iPod Touch. The application will presumably work under Wi-Fi to control playback of iTunes.

Apple has previously patented methods to implement such an iPhone Media remote control.

Stock analysts Zacks Equity Research are recommending investors hold on to their investments. They state that the company is benefiting from its iPod business and that there is an ‘ipod effect’ on sales of its computers, such as MacBook, and the iMac.

They see Apple has having a strong product line and the promise of new products in 2008, such as the 3G iPhone due for release on 11 July. They also see the iTunes Movie Rentals and software upgrades as adding to the mix.

despite the outlook for consumer spending in the current ‘credit crunch’ that we all know about, they see the outlook as still favourable, with a six-month target for stock at $184 (currently around the $175 mark).

MacHeist Does it Again!

MacHeist has almost become an institution as far as some Mac users are concerned… for this one certainly. Their latest offering is Parallels Desktop version 3.0, bundled with Mac Pilot, all for the measly sum of $49!

However, if you are an existing MacHeist customer, you get a $10 discount, making it only $39! That’s around £20 for us Brits with the current exchange rate almost at $2 : £1

Compared to paying the full $79.99 normally for Parallels then this is something of a steal.

In addition, the first 1000 customers to purchase the bundle will recieve a free “mystery application” (one that’s an previous Apple award winner) which will be detailed on Friday. This is rumoured to be either Coda or Lineform.

I already had version 2 of Parallels, as well a paid for version of Mac Pilot, but I took the plunge anyway as its a better deal than paying for the upgrade, especially if you consider that I am within the 1000 customers limit and so I can look forward to another great application!
